In 1949, Elpidio Perdomo founded  Mosaicos Venecianos de Mexico, the first glass mosaic factory of the Americas. The fusion of Murano's Masters millenary formulas with the substitution of local raw materials and techniques, originates a new style in the production of Smalti, know today as “Mexican Smalti”.  The Perdomo Smalti catalogue counts with an extended range of colors used by worldwide recognized Mosaic Artists.
